Tornadoes in January!

2 confirmed tornadoes touched down in Indiana last night! One in southern Indiana, and one right here in Indianapolis. The kids got really scared at the amount of wind and rain they could hear outside, but it moved through pretty quickly. We tried to explain that the Warning wasn't for our area of the county, and that no matter what happened we would take care of them. It also reminded me that we need to get a tub together with all of our necessities, so that if a tornado does come our way, we will be prepared. Now, we are expecting a winter storm late Thursday/early Friday morning. This is supposed to bring anywhere from 3-6" of snow! The kids are excited that they will finally be able to use the sleds they got from Santa!!!

Freezer Burn!

Just thought I would share this cute and funny conversation I had with Harley yesterday morning before they left to go to the bus stop.

Me: "Harley, get your hat, gloves, and coat on. It's 0 degrees outside."
Harley: "Mom....I don't want to get freezer burned!"
Me: "You don't want to what??"
Harley: "I don'u t want to get freezer burned!"
Me: "Do yomean frost bite?"
Harley: "Yea, I don't want my face to turn black...I need my scarf on!"
Me: (giggling) "Okay, we'll put your scarf on your face to help keep the cold off."

I guess Thomas was talking to them the other night about how they need to be careful when they are outside in the cold, so they won't get frost bite. When she said freezer burned, I about lost it!!

New member of the Neel Clan!!

We are super excited to have a new niece & cousin come to our family! Savanah Neel was born yesterday, January 22nd, at 5:04pm, and weighed 8 lbs. 8oz., and was 19 inches long...the exact length and weight of Sierra!! We sure wish we could be there to see her in person.

First Day of School!

Well, Thomas left this morning for his first day of college. He has been really excited to get started. This is something he has wanted to do for a long while, and I am glad he is finally going! So, I hope that everyone will say a little prayer for him and keep him in your thoughts this semester as he has is carrying a full load of classes AND working! I'm super proud of him and know he will do great!! (Oh...and yes, that is a wreath on the front door! Guess I better take that down!)

My Sunbeam Baby!

I can't believe that Marina is a Sunbeam! She really can't be that old yet, can she?? Anyways, she hates Sunbeams, and won't go without me. She even won't go with me sometimes. She just wants to go to class with Thomas. I think it has to do with the new start time of church. We now start at 1pm, so it's definitely lunch time & nap time by the time primary starts. Hopefully she'll warm up to it soon, since I am now teaching the CTR 6 class.

She LOVES the new dress and tights that she got from Megan. She talks about them everyday! So she was more than happy to pose in them. This was taken on her first day of Sunbeams!

I was wondering where that went!

Thomas found this scarf, which belongs to Aspen (our oldest...GRRR!), outside in the snow!! Hmmm...no wonder she was always wanting to wear a different one. She was also a little too excited about the one that Jim & Jaimee sent her for Christmas!! I wonder what else we will find when it starts to melt again!! Hey, I wonder if that's where all 20 pairs of gloves that I bought have gone. I guess we'll get to have a treasure hunt every time the snow melts!!
