Now, We're in the Country!!

The county fair has been going on for the last week or so. We finally decided to go and experience it. What should we go see?? Well, the tractor pulls, of course! They were really loud and smelly. Good thing they were outside. Then it started to pour rain after just one pull. We stuck it out, and when the rain stopped we had lots of fun....except Marina, she kept telling us, "I don't like those!"

After this first pull, it started raining. So, we went and hid out under the bleachers.

It was really Loud!!!

Then they started truck pulling. We thought these were the night before, so Hey, Bonus!!

Here are a couple of tractors and their names.....

This one is "Eat 'n Dollars & Blow 'n Smoke"

This one is called, "My Other Wife"

Then Ryker started getting a little sillly.....

Friday and Saturday is the Demolition Derby! After seeing it in Utah earlier this year, there is no way we are going to miss watching another one!! I will definitely be posting those pictures and videos!

Our Family Day of Fun!

We had a great day together as a family today!! It was fun filled and active!! We started off by going to the zoo, and then went straight to our Stake Pioneer Celebration. Both were loads of fun.

At the zoo, we started off getting a Family Annual Pass, which cost us less than what we would have paid for 2 visits regular price. Now we can go to all of the Holiday events that go on there for Free!! There are Halloween and Christmas events that go on, plus a Radio Disney Back to School Concert the first Saturday in September. We are really excited!!

At the zoo there is a new Oceans Exhibit where you can pet sharks. They are dog sharks that are smaller. There were a couple of sharks that thought they were dolphins!!! Just watch this.....

The kids had a lot of fun petting them!!

We saw Sea Horses...

Nemo is in there somewhere...

Seals...

Marina didn't know what Seals were called so just listen really carefully in this video to what she calls them.

We also saw Polar Bears.

He was so cute!!

This one just kept swimming in circles over and over again...

The kids even got to feed a giraffe!!

This is the baby giraffe that was born last week....It's boy....He measured in at over 6 feet!!

Then we got to see a baby elephant walking around with its "momma and daddy" as Marina would say!

Before we left the zoo, we let the kids cool off in the fun fountains.

Then we headed out for the Pioneer Celebration. This was so much fun. They had good food, especially the homemade pies, and they had really fun games for the kids.

Aspen and Sierra really liked playing on the stilts.

Aspen actually got really good!!

There were rubber band guns...

Bows and arrows...

Marina learned how the pioneers washed clothes.

Aspen and Ryker were good at watermelon spitting.

We even went on a pioneer trek around the park...thanks to dad pulling all the kids!! Whew!!

Then the older three kids, Aspen, Sierra and Ryker, helped their team win tug of war.

Ryker then played a good game of box hockey.

Finally, we ended with a game of Hillbilly golf.

This really was one great day!! We even came home to a fun surprise......
Look what Thomas found in our front yard!

Now the kids are bathed and in bed...a perfect ending to a perfect day!!

Sweet Home Indiana!

Well, we're here in Indianapolis. Home of lots of corn! We have moved into a very nice neighborhood, where the neighbors actually come and introduce themselves. The kids have plenty of friends to play with, especially Ryker. There are about 8-9 boys on our street alone. The older girls have met a very nice girl to play with also.

We are lovin' it here! Thomas loves his job. He is driving about 1 1/2 hours south everyday to New Albany. It is right near the Indiana/Kentucky Border, AKA "Kentuckiana!" The guys he works with have deep country accents, which makes the days more interesting.

I have been busy trying to get the house put together, as much as I can alone. My back has been doing OK, but when I lift one too many boxes, I can definately tell. The hardest part is trying to figure out how to put the 7 of us into a 3 bedroom house. There are alot of clothes now, and there will only be more when winter comes. I have already started doing my freezer cooking. I have just been doing one dinner a night, and then making 3 extra batches of the same dinner to freeze. We bought a chest freezer, so that helps with storing them.

We can't register the kids for school until August 1. They are getting antsy to go and get their supplies, but I have to keep reminding them that we don't know what they need yet. The bus will probably be picking them up right in front of the house. There is some construction on new houses right next door, so the bus may not be able to get all the way through to our house. In that case, it will pick them up right on the corner. Nice, huh? That would never happen inVegas! I am interested in seeing what the differences in the schools will be compared to Vegas.

The Count fair starts tomorrow. We are so excited!! It looks huge, and is just about 4-5 minutes from our house. Trent and Beth said that it really isn't that big compared to the state fair that will be in August, but we are still super excited to go. There will be different events going on each night in the grandstands.....motorcycle racing, demolition derby, and stunt driving, just to name a few. We are going to have a blast!!

Well, more to come as we experience our new home!!
