Sweet Home Indiana!

Well, we're here in Indianapolis. Home of lots of corn! We have moved into a very nice neighborhood, where the neighbors actually come and introduce themselves. The kids have plenty of friends to play with, especially Ryker. There are about 8-9 boys on our street alone. The older girls have met a very nice girl to play with also.

We are lovin' it here! Thomas loves his job. He is driving about 1 1/2 hours south everyday to New Albany. It is right near the Indiana/Kentucky Border, AKA "Kentuckiana!" The guys he works with have deep country accents, which makes the days more interesting.

I have been busy trying to get the house put together, as much as I can alone. My back has been doing OK, but when I lift one too many boxes, I can definately tell. The hardest part is trying to figure out how to put the 7 of us into a 3 bedroom house. There are alot of clothes now, and there will only be more when winter comes. I have already started doing my freezer cooking. I have just been doing one dinner a night, and then making 3 extra batches of the same dinner to freeze. We bought a chest freezer, so that helps with storing them.

We can't register the kids for school until August 1. They are getting antsy to go and get their supplies, but I have to keep reminding them that we don't know what they need yet. The bus will probably be picking them up right in front of the house. There is some construction on new houses right next door, so the bus may not be able to get all the way through to our house. In that case, it will pick them up right on the corner. Nice, huh? That would never happen inVegas! I am interested in seeing what the differences in the schools will be compared to Vegas.

The Count fair starts tomorrow. We are so excited!! It looks huge, and is just about 4-5 minutes from our house. Trent and Beth said that it really isn't that big compared to the state fair that will be in August, but we are still super excited to go. There will be different events going on each night in the grandstands.....motorcycle racing, demolition derby, and stunt driving, just to name a few. We are going to have a blast!!

Well, more to come as we experience our new home!!

Sounds like you all are having a ball out there....so happy to hear that you have adjusted so well. It reminds me of when I lived in Missouri...same stuff goes on there...the week long county fairs that pop up all over the state...it is all good!!! A wonderful environment for the children...to say the least!!! They are all growing up so fast!!! Send them our love.

And yes, the bus should pick them right up in front of the house...lol...just like they did for the rural students in MO!!! Never here in Vegas, that's for sure!!
